Turkey with Orange
Two servings. Cooking time: 1 hour.
Ingredients
- 1 turkey drumstick
- 1 orange
- 1 red onion
- 2-3 celery stalks
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 dessertspoon of flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 oven bag
- For the sauce:
- 2 oranges
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 tablespoon of mustard
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
Preparation
1. Cut the red onion into eight pieces and finely chop the celery stalks. Pour olive oil on them.
2. Flour the oven bag and shake the excess flour. Place the turkey drumstick, onions and celery stalks in the bag. Season with salt and black pepper. Slice one orange with the bay leaves and add them. Punch holes with a pin on the bag and close it tightly. Bake for 15-20 minutes in an oven set to 200 degrees. Then, lower the temperature to 180 degrees and bake for another 25-30 minutes.
3. For the sauce, grate the peel of one orange with thin grains. Squeeze the juice of the oranges. Mix the butter, honey, mustard, salt, and black pepper with orange juice.
4. Remove the cooked turkey drumstick from the oven and carefully remove the bag. Separate the bay leaves. Pour all the sauce you have prepared on the turkey drumstick and bake in the oven for another 15 minutes. To prevent the drumstick drying, take the sauce leaking on the tray at certain intervals and then rub it again.
